Nigeria, on Sunday, recorded 437 new cases of the dreaded Coronavirus.
With the latest update, the total tally of infected people in the country rose to 46,577 from 46,140 reported on Saturday evening.
The Nigerian Center for Disease Control in a tweet Sunday night said the new cases were reported in 17 states- Lagos, FCT, Plateau, Kaduna, Ogun, Kwara, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Oyo, Borno, Edo, Kano, Nasarawa , Osun, Taraba, Gombe and Bauchi.
Lagos recorded the highest number of Sunday’s cases and remains the epicentre for the disease in the country.
All the reporting states already had at least a case of the virus.
As of the time of reporting, 35 states and the FCT have recorded at least a case of the disease.
There was a decrease in the number of infections reported on Sunday compared to 453 reported on Friday.
According to the data made available by the NCDC, 33,186 patients have been discharged and 945 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.
“Till date, 46577 cases have been confirmed, 33186 cases have been discharged and 945 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory
“The 437 new cases are reported from 17 states- Lagos (107), FCT (91), Plateau (81), Kaduna (32), Ogun (30), Kwara (24), Ebonyi (19), Ekiti (17), Oyo (8), Borno (6), Edo (6), Kano (4), Nasarawa (3), Osun (3), Taraba (3), Gombe (2) and Bauchi (1)” The health agency said.
