Six patients being treated for the coronavirus have recovered and will soon be discharged by the Infectious Diseases Hospital, Yaba, Lagos.
The Commissioner for Health, Lagos State, Professor Akin Abayomi, revealed this to reporters on Thursday afternoon.
“We are going to discharge six out of our 24 patients. So our admitted patients will go down theoretically to 18 but if we admit more they will go up.” Abayomi said.
There are now 8 patients in total, with whom have recovered from the virus, all being from Lagos.
Abayomi assured that the state is taking proactive steps in dealing with the virus if the number of cases continue to increase.
He disclosed the state is undergoing the rehabilitation of a hospital in Gbagada and also building 250 bed capacity tents in three locations in preparation for future cases.
