Fifteen Feared Dead as Soldiers Shoot at Protesters in Lekki Toll Gate

15 protesters were reportedly shot dead as soldiers of the Nigerian army shot at peaceful EndSARS protesters at Lekki toll gate, Lagos State.

A Kelvin Odanz disclosed via his twitter handle that “the security cameras were taken down,  the lights were switched off and innocent Nigerians were murdered in cold blood at Lekki.

“After gunning them down, they are stealing their corpses to further hide the evidence. The Nigerian government is a criminal organization.”

According to him, they were all sitting on the floor when soldiers began to shoot.

The shooting caused pandemonium as protesters scampered to safety.

Also, videos of continuous gunshots had gone viral on social media.

In one of the videos, a lifeless youth was seen on the floor.

The protesters in the video called for help, saying they were under heavy gunfire bombardment.

Earlier, some government workers had allegedly removed the CCTV at the toll gate.

The state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had declared a 24-hour curfew, citing the violence that greeted the #EndSARS protest in the state.

Some of the protesters, who claimed that the timing was short, refused to vacate the protest ground.
