Senator Duoye Diri clinch deal with Outgoing Governor Dickson

The Governorship candidate of the peoples democratic party has called on all aspirants to close ranks and work with him in the coming elections in Bayelsa State.

Senator Duoye Diri was speaking on Thursday in Yenagoa just be for leaving for the INEC office in Abuja where his expected to tidy up documentation on his candidacy ahead of the Nov 16 poll.

Senator Dismissed speculation that he is in a sort of arrangement where Outgoing Governor Dickson will replace him at the Senate, through the bye election that would follow, should he become Governor in November 2019.

Speaking further, He stated his commitment to continue with the programmes of infrastructure renewal of his predecessor, using this as a the foundation for the implementation of his partnership for prosperity proposal for Bayelsa State.

Meanwhile, the closest challenger of Senator Diri, Timi Alaibe has refrained from speaking with the press in the interim. He and his team have gone underground to retstrategize on their next move following Alaibe’s loss to Duoye Diri at the Governorship primary election.

Duoye Diri clinched the ticket with 561 votes to defeat his rival, Timi Alaibe who came second with 365 votes.
