Manchester United’s wild card loan signing, Odion Ighalo has been offered a two-year contract extension, worth more than £400,000 per week, by his parent club Shanghai Shenhua.
Ighalo’s current contract expires in December 2022 and Shanghai want to keep him until December 2024.
The Chinese Super league club intend to reward the forward, following his impressive start in the United jersey.
The contract extension would see the Nigerian striker earn £400,000 a week before tax, which is said to have flattered the striker.
Ighalo, whom was quoted saying it has always been a dream of his playing for United, the club he supported as a child, would most likely wait to see if United will offer him a permanent deal before making a final decision on his future.
Odion Ighalo will become the Highest Paid African Player if he accepts Shenhua’s over £400,000 per week two-year contract extension.
